Lauren is 22 years old and grew up in Mesquite, TX. She attended Southern Methodist University after high school where she ran cross country and track in her freshman year. This summer she started cycling her junior year to exercise and commute to work. For her junior year she transferred to University of North Texas and moved to Lewisville, TX. The following summer she met her boyfriend Mat Stephens and he opened her eyes to the world of cycling. Without his support and inspiration she would never have achieved the levels of competition she has. 2009 is first year to race. Besides winning multiple category 3 races her biggest achievement ifs this year was her upgrade of to a Category 2 in May.
