Christian was born on May 17th, 1981 in Luxembourg. He started racing mountain bikes in 1995 at age 14 and raced primarily off the road (Mountain Bike Cross Country), winning multiple State Titles in Germany before focusing on the road in 2008. After graduating with an MBA in Sports Management from the University of Dallas in 2007 he joined the Metro Volkswagen Cycling Team for his first full season on the road. The highlights in 2008 were wins at the Texas State Criterium Championships and the Hotter N’ Hell 100, as well as a 3rd place at the Sandy Springs Criterium and 10th overall at the USA Crits Speedweek.
